What happened to the US-version of "The Office"?

I enjoyed both. It's on the fall lineup NBC released yesterday. Current season is over as there were only 6 episodes (or there abouts).

it was a good show for NBC, IMO.

however i think it got bad ratings because with shows like Friends people arent used to not being told when to laugh when theres no laugh track

It definitely grew on me, but I can see how others say that some of the laughs are forced. They go a bit over the top with many of what they have Steve Carrell do. He's the most obnoxious part of the show. The supporting cast is great.
