What happened to the handheld computers?

Not PDAs... I mean the ones that looked like mini-laptops. I remember one (I think it was a Sony) that had like a 300 Mhz Celeron in it and could run Win98 and stuff.... I would get a PDA but, I just don't think they are powerful enough - not enough RAM and ROM. What happend to that 400 Mhz proc they were supposed to be putting in those things?
