They had a few hits, did a couple of albums, then disappeared. I found one report saying the lead singer died and the band broke up, another saying the band reformed under a new name, and another saying the lead singer died, the band broke up, and then reformed under a new name.

My guess would have been "In the alley behind the liquor store, third cardboard box on the left, right next to Hootie and the Blowfish."

Their first big album kicked a lot of ass. Most/all songs on it were very good.

The guy who died played guitar for them, and was one of their founding members. He wrote a lot of their music for "New Miserable Experience" in 1992. He died in 1993, but they put out another album ("Congratulations I'm Sorry") in 1996.

They broke up in 1997 apparently, but recently got back together.

I didn't know that, I had to look it up. But I was curious about that too.
