What happened to that Mcdonald's movie rental idea?

I remember a month or two ago McDonald's was trying out a movie rental service at some locations, how'd it go and are there any updates?

the better question is why would anyone want to rent a movie from Mc Donalds?

For the same reason people eat there: Sucessful marketing has people believing it's a good idea.

Next you'll be able to get your dry cleaning done while enjoying a mayo sandwich.

The ones I say a few months ago in Denver were $1/day and you could return them to any store. Not a bad deal for most people. Of couse the selection was like ~40 movies...

They were only doing a limited selection. Like Nemo when it's released, etc. Just kiddie type movies..

I thought they were doing sales though, not rentals?

I think they are also only in the "testing phase" which means they probably selected about 10 McDonalds to do the test. Testing a new concept soemtimes goes on for years. For example, TalBots is opening a Mens store. They started with like 5 "test stores" and "roll out" wonb't start till 2006!

Give it time. If you really want to know the answer, go to the McDonalds forum at finance.yahoo.com and ask them.

For the same reason people eat there: It's tasty.

Fixed. And that doesn't make sense.

/Crunch... Crunch....

they taste fine to me!

Don't forget to rewind before you take them back.

Darnit i knew i was forgetting something!

They're still in Denver. I walked into one today (first time in 3 years) and there it was, 4 people took out DVDs while I was there buying my Chicken Selects. I think this experiment is supposed to last until the end of November. For 1$ a day, it's not bad for those that go to McD every day.
