email I sent to swiftink:

I made an order from swiftink (order number: ***47) and I just wanted to say that I was very disappointed with the quality of my BCI-24 ink. I've ordered from swiftink in the past and have always received BCI-24 (black and color) ink in a white box with a teal colored lid. This last order what came were half green half white boxes. When I tried the first one, I was a bit shocked to see all of the lines and spots on my printouts where the ink hadn't been put down on the paper. I cleaned the print head, I aligned the cartridges, I did everything I could think of. Still, I got lines. So, just for fun, I tried printing on high quality mode, it worked great. So, I took the cartridges out and opened my last set of white box ones, I set my printer to print in normal mode, worked just fine. So I stuck the green box ones back in, left it in normal mode, I got lines.

My point is, there is a distinct difference in the quality of these inks and I'm extremely frustrated to see that you have sacrificed the quality of what was once a good product to what it is now. I've been going through ink MUCH faster than I used to with these new ones. Not to mention it takes my printer about four times longer to print when I'm forced to use high quality mode. I'm not sure swiftink will be keeping my business any more.

I've never seen a bad review on swiftink before, but I'm a bit surprised that nobody has mentioned anything about the difference between the old and the new BCI-24 ink. I tried giving them a call just now and got only voicemail. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what they say about it.

Anyone else encounter similar problems?

Swiftink is in Michigan. Is there any chance the new tanks got frozen in shipping (either on the way to him or to you)? The 24 tanks have very small volumes - easier to freeze. If they freeze the color can settle out. No way to fix the ink inside the tanks after that.

Sometimes Aziz has to order from another company as a stopgap but he usually doesn't buy crap tanks. And it could be the same ink in a different package - I've had that happen a time or two.

Anyway, I try to stock up with enough to tide me over the winter before it gets cold as I know how cold some of the stuff gets that arrives here in the winter. In the next few days it'll probably drop below zero here for only the second time this season.

I bought these cartridges back in November, don't think freezing would cause these problems.

Not this year for sure... Hope he didn't screw up and do something that will cause him a loss of his hard earned good will here. I'm about to use the first of his tanks in my iP4300, but these are G&G so I'm not too worried. I ordered mine back in November too - Hmmmm... At least these tanks are transparent so I can look at the ink.

Keep us informed as to the solution of the problem.

aziz and I are tossing emails back and forth, seems like he is going to exchange the rest of my batch for a different brand. Not sure what he is going to offer with shipping though...
