Question What happened to QD-OLED?

It was all the rage last year and the tech looks impressive.

The QD-OLED Alienware AW3423DWF seems to be the best gaming monitor available, but I don't see it getting much love.

Because regular OLED is fine for the vast majority of people. As are LCDs. And price trumps everything unless you are one of the lucky 1%.

Cuz they burn in like no tommorrow.

Rtings is waiting on the fallout on the alienware monitor which has the worst burn in protection, but alienware has a contract with samsung to replace however many get burned in.

Only OLED i trust samsung with is my phone.
Otherwise i'll stick with LG and W-OLED.

Isn't really used. qled was touted as proper oled 6 or 7 years ago and became all the rage and then fizzled out for the reasons @aigomorla said. I've not seen a high end qled tv in the wild in a long time or I need to visit fancier shops. it didn't evolve like high hz monitors if you recall 10 years ago there were monitors coming out of china and korea that were a cut above what was available here in the west and now 144 or 120 hz has become more common than 60.

OLED and LCD (even TFT) got better. Like with Pretty Good Privacy (PGP), it was pretty good enough.

TN have the best privacy even without film, due to its horrible viewing angles.

When I was shopping for a 34" ultra wide it was consistently the most recommended monitor!

I didn't buy it because I'm too cheap and I bought the, reviewed worse but still ok, Dell S3422DWG
