What happened to my internet?

When I turned my computer on today I was surprised that my internet was not working. It had worked fine last night when I shut the machine down. I have Verizon DSL and am connected to a 5 port Switch made by netgear. I tried all the regular tricks for networks but I cannot get my computer to give me a IP. I tried disabling and reenabling the Network card and also uninstalling it. I am using a Soltek Nforce 3 board.

Ok I disabled the built in internet and installed a old network card. The old network card works, so that means something is wrong with the built in network device. I did not make any changes to the device before the problem so I assume it must be malfunctioning. Anyone know what could cause this and if there is anyway to fix my built in network card?

Do This:

Turn off your computer

Turn off the power supply

Unplug power supply

leave for a while(not sure on time....15 minutes or so would be safe)

Try it
