what happened to my gf2ultra?

all of a sudden i get total garbage all over the screen.lines
different colors etc,any ideas what happend?it is not even usable.
maybe the mem went to $hit

Did you manage to RMA it? Sounds like it's just buggered...best to get a replacement. Could be the memory I suppose - were you overclocking?

Does the card do it all the time or just when you're running games or such?

Run it through thoroughly - And on another box in another motherboard. Check to see if all is well on the board itself - Fan is working and they're no burn marks on it or foul smell. Heh.

I had exactly the same thing happen.
GF2 64meg (not ultra).
Vertical lines (stripes up and down the screen)
Tried in two other machines, same thing.
They said they think the ram went out, they did RMA it.
Is this happening a lot?
I tried everything to get this card to come back to life, it just would not do it.
I touched the ram chips while running (just before sending it back) and some of them were hot while some were cold. I would guess that all of them should be at least warm if voltage is getting to them.
Anyway, it was really buggered up.

its worse now,i had to change vid card.

I must of caught mine just in time. Same sort of problem, check the card only to find the fan was barely moving . Thought the card was a goner. Threw on another fan, and BINGO, she's running again. Hercules offered to replace the card anyway(how nice of them) until they ran the serial number and found out she was OEM.
