What happened to my connection?

Damn this really sucks. Before i moved to my new house 6 weeks ago, my average ping in CS was about 30. Sometimes it would even drop to as low as 15 or 20. Well you get the idea, it was great. But when i moved to a house just a 5-minute ride away from there, everything changed. My ping never drops below 50, in fact i'm lucky when i even get that. Most of the time it's over 60. So what exactly happened? I know it has nothing to do with the number of people living in this area because the pings are just as high in the middle of the night. And the connection speed seems fine, it's just the pings. Any ideas?

Is this a cable modem? You may have a bad line. What are your speeds like?

Yeah cable. Download speeds seem ok i guess, i didn't really test.

Could be your in a neighborhood with more users?

(But I don't know, all depends on how big the town is...)
