I went working out just now.. first thing I did was the treadmill. I ran for 10 minutes..
after that I stopped, then suddenly I feel like I am about to faint... I lost my vision, and I felt VERY tired..

I had to sit down for a while to regain my vision and strength. What happened? Was my body just too tired? I just recuperated from a cold a couple of days ago. should I just take it easy for a while?

thanks for any input

Was it like a headrush from hell or did you actuatly loose your vision and feel fatigued?

Probably dehydrated. Also your body is probably recovering from the cold still so it isn't as strong as it normally is.

How did your vision go and return? Maybe dehydration played a part but it sounds like your blood pressure dropped suddenly.

hmm I lost my vision gradually.. then after I rested (sat down) I regained it bit by bit..
I just felt like I was about to faint.. I walked to a couch and I bumped some chairs in the process..

you just need to rehydrate. Am I right in assuming your heart rate was higher than normal as well? I have been there before, heart starts beating like crazy, head feels light, vision gets blurry, then you start panicking and everything intensifies. Take some time off, drink plenty of water (or even better pedialyte,) and go at it again.

YES!!! my heart was beating like crazy...
I think my body is still recuperating from my last sickness... and I also lost a lot of weight.. maybe these reasons add up..

could be a low blood sugar deal also....I don't think dehydration would set in in 10 minutes, but I have had my blood sugar drop during fasting times and cardio....not fun, it's easy goes away once you get something inside you, but up too that point you serious have questions if you aren't dying right there in the gym :).

LOL...you arent dying....if you dropped that much weight it has to be from water loss. You are dehydrated my friend...drink plenty of water, stay away from alcohol (my god, did I just say that?) Give it a few days and then start up again.

Low blood sugar is not about sweets....sugar is what fuels muscles basically but it gets derived from carbohydrates.

If your muscles run out then oxygen (among some other reactions/mechanisms) is not properly allocated. The head rush / fainting comes from your body trying to keep you muscles going. (this is in layman's terms)

It could be dehydration, it could be low blood sugar, if it repeats all the time it could be something else.

I'm thinking dehydration also. I've blacked out while driving coming home from a hockey game... the same game I ruptured my spleen. Docs told me the blacking out wasn't mostly from loss of blood internally but because I hadn't had enough to drink to compensate the sweating.

Happens to me sometimes, it's normal sometimes when you don't eat or drink right before intense exercise, and especially when your body isn't use to demanding exercise.

It doesn't have to be serious, but you should see a doctor if any other symptoms persist other than the faintish feeling. Like numbness in limbs or dis colorization that shows lack of circulation.

Lucky for me, I get a yearly physical done for work. Blood work, EKG, etc.. So I know If there's something up I know about it before hand.
