What happened to Google?

It changes once in a while to a new design and if you clear your cache it will go back to the old one. I think they're testing a new design. I've seen this on and off for about 2 months.
 
never seen it. looks shitty. i'm sticking with my win98/win2k style toolbars and buttons forever, bitches, if you want to replace them with your shitty mac graphics you'll have to pry them from my cold, dead hands.

That second one is the hate and is one that gets viewed on all the computers here in one of engineering buildings. It is horrible. 🙁

Since going to google.com on my computer always defaults to my iGoogle page, I guess I never noticed the change. It's also not a big deal to me since I've always seen the upper left that way.
 
I always have to go to google.com to see this stuff whenever anybody talks about it.
I pretty much exclusively use the toolbar Google search (Ctrl+T->Tab) or highlight->right-click->Search.
