In American History X, he looked all buff and muscular and now when you see him, he's all skinny. What happened to him?

He probably just went on a cutting cycle to get definition. I doubt he was that much bigger for the movie.

You don't eat. Yes, it's very hard for fat people to imagine not eating every 5 minutes.

It's not a matter of losing all that muscle, it's a matter of defintion. He's skinny yet muscular to begin with, and if he went on a proper cutting cycle, he could've easily gotten all of that definition.

Same thing that happened to Tom Hanks in Cast Away, what's-her-face in Bridget Jones, and Ryan Reynolds for Blade: Trinity. Actors and actresses change their looks for parts at times.

I need to know how to do that, I'm skinny and can't gain a single pound if I ate chicken everyday.

Well are you muscular and skinny? Or just skinny? If you're just skinny, you're going to have to go through a cycle of bulking and cutting phases.

its not like the muscle just adds itself though. Yeah they can afford the best food and best trainers, but there's still a lot of work involved. Even with the same resources I wouldn't think i'd be able to do what he did.

That's because ordinary people have other things to do besides eat a specific diet and work out half the day.
Stars can bulk up or cut down pretty quickly, because that's the only thing they do for 6 months before the shooting of the movie starts.

Remember Linda Hamilton's new physique for Terminator 2?

well I was speaking more mentally. Some people just can't workout, they dont have what it takes. Not everyone can gain 30 pounds of muscle no matter how much money they spend, because in the end they still have to do the work, and its not something everyone can do. Basically i'm trying to say there was still work involved in getting prepped for the movie.

Eating chicken once a day won't do anything. You have to eat it 4-6 times a day, then you'll start gaining weight. That's eating a meal once every 3-4 hours.
I'm working hard on doing that consistently now, and I've gained 8 lbs in 3 weeks, from 114 to 122.

I hope you don't think that's 8 lbs of muscle.

With a few million bucks on the line, you can bet your ass most people would find the "mental resolve" necessary to get the weight on. :p
