I recently bought a monitor from them so I received a 10% coupon. I decided to check out their store and everything has an MSRP. They used to be so competitive in terms of price.

Oh yeah, and they now charge tax.

You have to wait for the right deals. I got a quad core Q6600 box + 24" monitor this week for $609 + tax.

There's a $300 off $1000 coupon right now. I'm assuming SearchMaster used it. That's why it seems so expensive.

Got in on that too. A ton of people did. The 10% off coupon took a while to arrive, but it showed up.

Yeah if it you don't search for the deals its expensive, but once you find those coupons & deals... most of the time it's hard to beat Dell's prices.

Go price out an HP and come back saying Dell is expensive.

BTW I don't see this "MSRP" people are talking about. Just the standard base price before config.

It used to be that they were far cheaper in general and had sales a bit more often. Now their normal prices are more expensive than they used to be (though cheaper than everyone else) and their sales less often. If you buy during their sales you are still getting the best possible prices and damn good deals at that. But if you don't buy during a sale of some kind then you are paying more than you would have before.

Watch the hot deals section on here, you can find coupons and deals that are very cheap, those who pay MSRP on dells site paid way too much.

Anything other than systems and they are somewhat expensive. Accessories, add ons and most other things are around what you'd pay in a store, and not on sale.
Their sales/deals/coupons are what make them great.
I second the "go to HP and then see how cheap Dell stuff is" comment. Not even close to competitive pricing, even with HPs sale prices.
