What happened to Creative's MP3 Zen line

Hello all,

I have the Creative Zen V Plus 8GB and would like to upgrade it to 16GB or 32GB flash mp3 player.

However, there are no new Zens out. Is there a similar mp3 player that I should look into? The ones I find online and stores are mostly up to 8GB so they're not really an upgrade. Also the Zen is really durable and the ipod/zunes don't have the hard plastic casings.

Is Creative still developing new mp3 players?

Cheers

The size is good. I mostly use it for gym use so I have an armband for it. Thin, light, and versatile. For its price I couldn't be happier.

They couldn't gain any ground against the ipod and they lost the low end to Sandisk. They went with the media devices that go beyond the ipod touch/zune hd and there just isn't much market there.

I love my Creative Vision:M but it's showing its age, so today I bought a Zune HD from Amazon. I was amazed when I played with it in the store. It has such a nice screen and so small. It also seemed very solidly built.

I'm jealous. I want a Zune HD so bad. I was amazed at the build quality, size, and speed when I tried it at Best Buy last week. Hoping the apps/games start to show up soon.

well, i really want a small mp3 player like the Zen V Plus that has bigger memory and updated features. The newer Zen look brittle and don't look all that functional....ie I always have to look at the screen and do some scrolling with touchscreens.

I've whipped the V Plus onto hard surfaces and it's still going.

it seems creatives execs took their 100 million apple ipod patent settlement and blew it on hookers and blow.

I have a Zen Microphoto that just dies. It was a POS the whole time I had it. Always locking up and needing to go into recovery mode. Can't even turn it on/start recovery mode now.

I am looking to stay away from Creative and either go with the ipod touch or the Zune HD. Need to go look at them.

I'm loving my Zune HD. It's actually a lot easier to use one handed than my Vision:M. The Zune is the best media device with a focus on music. The ipod touch is the best media device with a focus on apps and games.
