What happened to BurntKooshie?

Strange. I didn't come here until college happened to me. 🙂

I miss my Cyrix's too. The PR 300 (233mhz Cyrix II) finally died...it lived a good 5-year life (somewhat overclocked for part of it, and the last two years with a heatsink half the size it actually required....although it was underclocked).

The guys have it right.....I'm in college 😱.

I'm persuing a degree in Computer Engineering, as most of you know. It's a tough program at UMD -- the advisors actually tell us that their program is not a realistic 4-year program (even though, because of the University administration, they are required to advertise it as such) -- mostly because they took 3/4 of the comptuer science requirements, and 3/4 of the electrical engineering requirements, plus the University requirements. So I'm here for 5 years....perhaps even more 😱. But, I don't feel quite so bad, given that < 30% of computer engineers make it out in 4 years. But, because I'm going to be here for so long, I decided I'd just add another degree....so I'll be getting a degree in Computer Engineering, and another in Economics 😛

I try to drop by here sometimes...but I don't have the same interest in the stats of distributed computing....and people don't really have questions about CPU architecture anymore...at least, from the few posts that I perurse these days, so I don't feel quite as needed here 😛.

Maybe you'll win the prestigious Trout Scholarship 🙂 Nice to see you come to the surface when possible, BK! 😀

Hey BK, nice to hear from you. Good luck with all of your studies. 🙂

Bert who? Oooh, BK! Glad to see you around, even if it is just to say "Hi!" Hope things go well for you at school! 🙂

Nice to see you drop in BK.

I bet someday you will personally be making the next generation of the latest and greatest CPU's 😉 , personally I hope at AMD 😀

Note: I'm not saying anything about the quality of product at Intel, only the quaility of their Market Tactics in trying to make it a Closed Market.

Yeah, I'm doing mechanical engineering at the University of Illinois...it's hard. I should be able to get out of here in four years unless I really mess something up. 🙂

I can't imaging you doing CE and econ though! :Q
