What happened on The Practice the last two weeks?

I just watched it today and saw Bobby Donnel's beaten face. What happened?

one of the murderers he was defending kicked his @ss and almost killed him

The previous episode was 3-4 weeks ago- either has been repeats or pre-empted.

Bobby gets Client out on Bail- Client tells him if he's not at the hearing he'll be at So&So's house- if anything happens to him, look there. Client didn't show up for hearing- Bobby tells Police-- turns up the So&So had been murdered . Client shows up at Bobbies office- Bobby starts to explain that he'd gone to the police when the Police show up & arrest Client for the murder of So&So. Bobby visits Client in Jail to plan defence- Client does best to kill Bobby.
