What happend to my pc?

After loading crysis, my pc blue screened and then it refused to boot the hard drive.
This happened before but it was thundering out and I thought that it was a power surge.
Anywho I had to reinstall windows xp and now it refuses to overclock. Could this have been caused by a bad ram stick? I tried loading memtest and it just froze the pc. I also deleted everything in the %temp% before running the memtest.

My system:
Gigabyte p35 ds3l
e2040 was overclocked to 3.00gz
2x1 gb g.skill 800mhz
8600gt

All bought in january.

I am sure it is the E2140 = 1.60Ghz / 1MB of cache. Ram does seem like the probable cause so, process of elimination is so required. Do as they say, start with 1 stick at a time and find the culprit🙂
