Bush decided not to use the weather machine so close to mid term elections, he figured it could hurt republican congressman getting re-elected

My wife and I met a couple in Florida last year that actually believed in "government using weather machine to turn on populace" conspiracy theory. I didn't even have to pick my jaw up off the floor because it hit the floor so hard it bounced right back up.
This was a seemingly very intelligent couple that did web design, had multiple servers in their home, and owned a pet store too. I was just in awe of the crap that reasonably intelligent people believe.

So, you guys don't think the unusually hot summer is a better indication of global warming than a lower than average hurricane season. I take that back lower than above average. This is actually an average season.
Right on cue...Tropical Storm Florence has just formed in the Atlantic. It's probably a fish storm but there is a chance the high to its north may push it far enough west to hit the east coast. Everyone on the east coast keep an eye out.
Unusually hot? Didn't seem to be around here...

The capacity for ignorance is astounding. Global warming exists--get over it--and the lack of hurricanes this year implies nothing.

Seriously. This has been the coldest august I've ever experienced.
