What (GSM) phone should I buy

I have a cheap Nokia one now but it doesn't do 'it' for me, so I'm going to yank the SIM card and put it into a new one. It's through Cingular. Basically my company pays the monthly bill with no questions asked generally, so it's for both personal and business use.

Speakerphone is a must. Bluetooth is a must. I'm still a student so I go to a lot of parties, get drunk and end up dropping my phones about once a month, if not more frequent, so I need something durable.

I have a Motorola v505 that's been through the war. Camera, speakerphone, bluetooth. Has everything you want but a qwerty layout, but one that has it is not gonna have the form factor you want.

Ebay is loaded with them.

i have a Nokia 6820 and it is the sh|t. If you do a lot of text messaging, it's well worth it.
Nokia 6820 Lemme know if you're interested. I just switched to Sprint and they use CDMA phones.

I just replaced my v505 with a v557 and I'm pretty happy with it. The v505 was an awesome phone but didn't fair well being thrown into the console of my truck 🙁

that's what I use (well, actually I use the 6680), and what I was going to recommend, didn't know if the OP would be able to afford it htough. Although I did get mine for $200 shipped, unlocked and unbranded the average price is right around $300 or more.

If the 6680 is a little too rich for your blood, try the 6630, it's go the same interface and supposedly is even a little bit faster (slightly more internal memory)

any series 60 phone will do you good. once you learn the T9 input you'll be able to type just as fast as if you had a qwerty

what's your price range?

Well, I wasn't planning on buying anything with smartphone capability. If I wanted a smartphone my company would provide me with a Treo 650 but it's not something I want to do because it means I'm going to be getting my Exchange email wherever I go.

So I figured $100-$150 for a decent phone without smartphone capability is acceptable.

Yea, the qwerty form factor is the suck :/

Solution?
GSM, speakerphone, regular form factor till you fold it open to reveal a QWERTY keyboard, tough, etc.

Whats wrong with this suggestion?

I decided I really didn't need a qwerty layout...I went to check this phone out and it's just a tad large.
