I will have at the most €300 euro christmas time. I am looking to get a GPU that will handle most games at 60+ fps. Keep in mind that it's euro and I live in Ireland so Irish sites would be handy. E.g dabs.ie komplett.ie
Dont worry about bottlenecking and wattage :) thanks !

What monitor resolution?

It looks like your budget is too small for GTX 970 or R9 390.

Search for a GTX 960 4GB or R9 380 4GB, but with price closer to 200 EUR.

200 is pretty cheap, budget is 300. I have a 1360 x 768 resolution

I could not find any GTX 970 or R9 390 for 300 euro on dabs.ie.

I said closer to 200 euro, not at 200 euro, because even GTX 960 cards are above 200 euro and the 4GB versions seem to start at around 250 euro in Ireland.

All 3 cards from my list are good cards for their respective price, including GTX 960 4GB.

At your resolution I am inclined to recommend the GTX 950 2GB for 184 euro (and you keep the other 116 euros).

You said that we should not worry about bottlenecking and wattage, but since you have such an ancient monitor, you should list your CPU and your power supply, just to be sure that there are not any potential problems.

My CPU is an Intel i5 4460 and my PSU is:

I will be playing games like battlefield, fallout, gta, crysis, assassins creed etc

Good.

Can you increase the budget?

Do you intend to replace that monitor?

If you will not replace the monitor sooner than a year, get that GTX 950 2GB. Else, get one of the other two cards that I listed.

In about one year from now (or even as soon as next summer) a new generation of graphics cards, with a significant increase in performance is expected to be available.

I can't increase the budget and maybe I will upgrade to a 1080p monitor but not any time soon

Based on your country's pricing, your resolution, and monitor upgrade strategy, there is no card worth buying at 300 Euro. I would just buy a GTX950 2GB for 183-184 Euro and upgrade again in 2-3 years. Just put aside 120 Euro from your 300 Euro budget towards your next upgrade. By the time you decide to get a new 1080P monitor, you can save up another 180 Euro GPU get yourself a new 300 Euro card in 2018 or something.

My picks for the 950 are:
Asus Strix

Palit
http://www.dabs.ie/products/best-va...ne5x950s1041-2063f-BLBS.html?q=gtx 950&src=16

This card is plenty fast for your resolution and you'd gain nothing useful by buying a 380/960, while GTX970/390 are huge overkill right now for that resolution. Better put that $ aside for a new monitor or a GPU upgrade in 2-3 years.

Get an R9 380 or GTX 960 and use the rest on a new monitor. When you upgrade to 1920x1080, you'll wonder how you ever lived with your current monitor. It's not worth it to buy a good card with your current monitor.

Agree with the above concerning the 950 2GB. No point in going higher - better to save for a monitor + video card upgrade later.

What is your current GPU?
