I finally am breaking down and gettign a GPS unit now that they can be had for under $100. From looking around a bit, I could be talked into up to $150 just because I might be getting greedy for sub $100 models..
I have fairly straight forward interests in a GPS unit.
1) Speech. "Turn left 500 feet from here, turn left 100 feet from here, turn left" type stuff.
2) I want the 1st person perspective to be available. Kinda like the first person shooter perspecitve, not a top down view of a map.
3) EASY to use. I want input to be easy and intuitive.
4) Some sort of mount. On top of dash or suction cups. Is this an extra that is bought seperate?
Also:bigger screen is bettter
I have no brand loyalty
From Best Buy, I noticed these brands:
Magellan (2)
Garmin (1) <=== BASED on people I have talked to and forum searches, Garmin seems too be the way to go.
Insignia™ (1)
RightWay (1)
Sanyo (1)
TomTom (1)
Any to avoid? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olstempl...A%3E1900-01-01
EDIT:
2 wo-workers. Each have a Garmin and a Magellen. Both like the Garmin more.
