What God says about your money

Does God want your kid to be rich?

Faiths usually offer parents very clear direction on child-rearing. Premarital sex, for instance? That's pretty much a no-no, no matter what deity you worship. Dietary rules can also be pretty straightforward -- no pork for Muslims and Jews, no beef for Hindus.

But when it comes to money, the picture is cloudier. What does the Bible or the Koran actually say about money? Does God want us to own a fleet of yachts? Or does he (or she) think suffering and hardship is noble

"It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God" (Matthew 19:24).

So if you are rich, you aren't going to heaven, but if you give your money to me:

Proverbs 11:25: "A generous man will prosper, and he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed."

then you might make it there.

The only thing god has to say about money is that HE doesn't have enough of it and wants yours.

what.

I don't think he read the article

What do you need the article for? Anyone with an education knows that every religion has its hand out and demands that the sheep finance it. No matter how omnipotent the great cosmic muffin is he can't handle his own checkbook and expects you to pay for his work.

The article is about the view of different religions on giving to charity, and how to instill the habit of giving to charity into your children from a young age. I don't know what the hell you're rambling on about or why.

This is why religious people are easily scammed. Charity is the biggest legal mafia in the world. Well ok, after worker unions.

Helping others with money is a scam? Sure there are scam "charities" but that doesn't mean giving money away is always a waste. There are plenty of ways to donate that are effective.

Go listen to Dave Ramsey. He's a Christian who does Financial seminars. There's plenty of passages saying you should keep your money, invest wisely, give back to the church, etc. But I'm sure there are other passages that say you should give away all your possessions too. I take it with a grain of salt.

God gets 10% after taxes, if you don't pony up the dough he sends a couple of tough guys to break your leg. What you have left over is yours to spend guilt free on drugs & hookers.

The Koran says: "Kill whitey".

Matt. 19:24 is not to be taken literally like that. How to get to heaven is laid out pretty straight forward in the Bible. What that verse means is it's hard for a rich man to get to heaven because he is more focused on earthly possessions.

I like how you people take everything literally EXCEPT the part that tells you that you won't go to heaven if you're rich.

What he is saying is that passage is meant to mean a rich man has a hard time entering heaven because he is typically focused on earthly possessions rather than because God says "You're rich, get out." Both interpretations can be made without going outside the literal meaning of the words.

edit: "rich" is also a very subjective term, could mean middle class or could mean Bill Gates.

Do you know what the eye of needle is? Its a gate in a wall that a camel needs to get down a crawl threw . its hard but it can be done.

Whos image is on a coin christ asked . they replied ceasar. Than give to ceasar that which is ceasers and to God that which is GOds.
