I have added to the mix 4 cans of Hershey's chocolate syrup. The kid likes chocolate milk and his mom swears she has seen nothing like that there.

I thought about including the lower receiver to an AR-15 and letting the little tyke "roll his own" but getting NATO 5.56mm (or even .223) is a total hassle up there. The Norwegians are a bit skittish about 'evil black rifles'.

If you buy clothing, make sure it's functional.

My friend married a Norwegian. Every time they visit the US she talks about how cute the clothes are. Apparently in Norway, if it's not Merino wool and designed for function, it's not sold/nobody wears it.

How about American candy? Do they still sell big league chew? I think Peanut Butter may be an American thing, but I don't know if a 9 year old would be excited about that.

That was the mom's exact complaint about the clothes!

Peanut butter seems to be an acquired taste for many Europeans. Shockingly they usually don't like it. I see that as a sign of encroaching communism.

This is what I came in to post. Lego isn't American.

Do the proper American thing and get the little lad a gun.

Yeah, I know that. It's just the Lego sets he wanted were not available in Norway.

As for guns, I'd LIKE to send over a Second Amendment "gift pack" of an AR-15, a 1911 ACP, a Remington 870, and maybe a nice Winchester model 94 carbine just in case they wanted some good old fashioned lever action fun.
Alas, Norway's gun laws are not as progressive as they should be, so I'm stuck with Legos.

Archery Set with suction cup arrows. Or maybe some kind of Nerf gun that he can chase the pets with.

His mom told me some things but they are all gay as sh!t 'sensible stuff' only a mom would chose. Sure, like your kid needs his 4th sweater, yeah right.

stopped reading after this

I'm not even sure where the OP is going there. I suppose the new stereotype is that all gay people are practical, boring, and family oriented?

Lego Mind Storm kits are awesome. Get a few pairs of Lee or Wrangler jeans as they're definitely in fashion over there.

The kid loves Legos and all kind of things "American".

I guess toy guns are out in that country, but I grabbed him some Lego sets that are not available there.
Any ideas? It has to fit inside a large flat rate USPS box.
The kid is kind of smart (already speaks English, Norwegian, and Russia) and likes electronics.
Any ideas for things that won't "put his eye out"?
