The kid loves Legos and all kind of things "American".
His mom told me some things but they are all gay as sh!t 'sensible stuff' only a mom would chose. Sure, like your kid needs his 4th sweater, yeah right.

I guess toy guns are out in that country, but I grabbed him some Lego sets that are not available there.
Any ideas? It has to fit inside a large flat rate USPS box.
The kid is kind of smart (already speaks English, Norwegian, and Russia) and likes electronics.
Any ideas for things that won't "put his eye out"?

Unavailable Legos probably a good way to go if he's into that.

He into a robot league type of thing? I used to be a Mentor on the big league that was running that Dean started, I never was too active with the lego league FIRST area though there are a lot around.

The robotic ones always good.

You may wish to PM them for advice.

There are also some others that I have seen with a geographical reference to that area.

PS: you can ignore advise from people like the douchebag above.

If you buy clothing, make sure it's functional.

My friend married a Norwegian. Every time they visit the US she talks about how cute the clothes are. Apparently in Norway, if it's not Merino wool and designed for function, it's not sold/nobody wears it.

How about American candy? Do they still sell big league chew? I think Peanut Butter may be an American thing, but I don't know if a 9 year old would be excited about that.

Some kids are spoiled little brats but most don't give a damn what you get them. I was happy to get a big chocolate bar from my aunt coming to visit from England. It tasted different than chocolate over here and she knew I loved it but I was still more happy see my aunt than get any bloody presents that I didn't really ask for. It really doesn't take much to make a kid happy. If it takes Lego sets worth of 200 dollars or video games or whatever to make this kid happy, fuck him. Shit isn't free in this world and you're not entitled to get anything just because you're a kid. I fucking hate parents that give way too many presents to children on birthdays and Christmas, it's disgusting, make the kids work for their presents. I read an article about kids crying on Twitter and Facebook about their parents not getting them an iPhone whatever model number for Christmas or a new car for birthday and saying how their parents are unfair and hate them. FUCK YOU! You're not entitled to get anything for Christmas or birthday you spoiled fucking cunts! Makes me sick. Maybe I'm just jealous cus I didn't get much as a child. :hmm: /ragequit

I think if you stick with Legos he will be a very excited boy.

When I was 9, anything that I got that wasn't legos or contrux was something I used once and forgot about promptly later.

Nah, nice and warm +4C altho it might snow a bit during the night. Sun rises at 4:30am and sets at 9:30pm. Plenty of light. Soon I'll have trouble sleeping because it's bright outside all the time then I'll get really cranky. :\

Yes, yes you are, absolutely, you are.

If you don't agree, I shall add more commas, and a semicolon, or two; until you submit to my wisdom.

Ok, one thing kids are entitled to are decent parents. Buying the kids way too much useless junk like the newest iPhone or what the fuck is currently marketed as the must to have piece of shit gagdet doesn't make you a decent parent. It doesn't make your kids happy. Spending time with your kids makes them happy. You can't buy love.
