I'm looking for ideas. I don't want to admit how cheap I am so I won't be writing here the price range here...but price has to be pretty low :) I am running out of time and have no ideas. BTW electronics I can tell you right now won't cut it.

New PC
New bike
New TV/VCR
Tons of clothes
RC car
Crayola crayon drawing center

Can you be a bigger pig ? AnandTech ModeratorWhat gives? I'm giving the good and the bad. Some like those kinds of gifts, others don't. Sheesh

Good:
Electronics (watches, etc)
Electronics with motors (robots)

Bad:
Kitchen stuff (aprons, new dishes, pots&pans)
Cleaning equipment (vaccum, new mop).

The good will get you nice thing gifts and rewards in return, the others will not. My previous suggestions obviously didn't go over well with the mods, but they certainly can yield good results -- too bad you can't see them here.

I got my girlfriend a sapphire bracelet, an adidas backpack (she is going to start grad school soon), an Anne Geddes address book, and a novel by an author she likes.

We spent kind of a lot on each other this year because we are on the East Coast by ourselves, and we are not flying back for the holidays. :(

Leather coat is good but she has one. Sadly I'm looking to spend less anyway.

Roger those are things _I_ would like!

If Mrs. Skoorb is into knick-knacky things go to the knick-knack shop at the local mall and pick up a couple quarry critters.

more links

I've got these for visgf for misc. gifts over the past couple years and she adores them :)

They're cheap to buy too!

Well i'm not opposed to buying several small things but really I want something that is at least usable, not too pricey, and yet also memorable. I know it can be done, but I know not how! Jewellry always works but damn me ifI want to buy that. Same for clothes because they are intensely boring to shop for.

Not much, I built her a computer over the summer.

I ordered a George Clooney calendar for her though, & I bought plane tickets to go see her.

I guess her real present is that she gets to spend 8 days with me.

Of dubious value at best, I know.

:D

How about a silver plated PS2 mouse? $29.95

Ordered one for my lady last night.
Probably useless but looks cool. It's the thought that counts, right?
Good Luck.

Just go to the health and beauty section of the local walmart/target/ect and look at what they got.

Maybe one of those foot spas or something along those lines.

I feel your pain. And like you, I can't stand shopping for jewelry. Plus, my wife isn't really all that concerned with jewelry anyway. Even though she made a little wish list to help out the family some this year I still don't know exactly what to get her. I'm thinking I might get a CD player for her car as well as a few other odds and ends of more sentimental value.

Last year I got her a very nice Nordic Trac treadmill. And yes, she DID want one since we were tired of going to the gym all the time. That could have been a major bomb though is she hadn't wanted one! :D It would be like buying your wife a membership to Weight Watchers!!

Ys had a good idea. My wife loves it whenever I get tickets to a touring broadway musical (or something like that.) Granted, I don't do that very often but you can score some major points for that sort of thing. And what's cool is that you get double credit for it. Once for just thinking of it and giving it to her and a second time for the night you actually go since it's like you're giving it to her all over again. Granted, you've got to get some other small fluff gifts so she'll actually HAVE something Christmas day, but that's why God invented Bath & Body Works.

My gift is for my ex though, but i have absolutely no idea. I'm thinking some adult toys (i use to work in a porn shop, so i know what the good stuff are ;) ), and something sentimental...

I can't tell because he browses this forum sometimes. :D

If you need ideas, though, we need some info. What kind of stuff does she like?

If you want to make it really special, make her dinner (by candelight, with flowers) on Christmas Eve. Think creative and romantic. :)

She just likes "regular girl stuff" :) Standard complement of clothes, jewellry, maybe some light crafts and stuff like that.

Those parafin kits are damn pricey! If I got them I could get little else :(

Tickets to the London Symphony Orchestra

It's one of the things my wife is getting.

You can't actually go until April, but you'll have something to look forward to. :)

Edit: BTW tickets range from $18 to $48 and the performance is in Birmingham, AL at the Boutwell Auditorium.
