What genre would you classify "The Temptations" and "The Isley Brothers"?

Isley Brothers isn't Motown.

I would just classify them as Oldies or Soul.

Ok, so they were at Motown for 3 years. They only had one hit with Motown, and it definitely is not their most famous song now. "Shout" and "Twist and Shout" were not with Motown.

Well, after you turn 21 or so, you realize that there is great music in almost every genre (except for maybe rap and country ;)), and that whats really important is that you enjoy it, rather than that its considered "cool" by your idiot friends. Once that happens, you'll find yourself rocking to everything from Wagner to the Pixies to the Temptations.

Contrary to teenage belief, music contains the entire range of human expression. So when you hear something you like, don't worry about its classification; just turn it up and fvck everybody else.

Your post says nothing about what type of music he's trying to categorize. All your post is, is an e-penis stroking related to how old you are and has nothing to do with the OP.

Maybe he has a music collection where he groups by genre?
