I got hit by a MAMAMAMASSIVe wave that pulled me under and such.

I had enough but was paadling like crazy tryingto ride it and then both my legs spasmed and i got like muscle knots or soemthing. It hurt like hell and I missed the wave, not to mention, could have drowned too, tryign to grab my legs.

I stopped the spams by stretching them out but wanted to know what casued it. My calves are still sore now:(

Does it have anything to do with beign dehydrated? I had been in the water for hours in the hot sun...

I don't think the beach had much to do with it - I live next to the beach and never experienced it.

Actually, now that I thought about it, hadn;t you borrowed such a fruit from me that day...

..and no, I don't want it back nor do I want to "touch" it

Don't know. I remember one night I woke up SCREAMING while I grabbed my left calf during a spasm. Muscle spasms suck hardcore.

um, no. Bananas for the lack of potassium, which helps prevent cramps.

walking/running on the sand forces you to use muscles in your legs that you arnt used to useing, because they are so infrequently used you get leg cramps when they get worn out

Really? I was thirsty as hell when it happened(...didn't want to leave because I was next to a hottie) and thought that that might have instigated it.....

If being next to a hottie only gives you spasms in your calfs, it might be a good time to re-consider the banana up your ass thing. :D

Dehydration can lead to or increase the severity of spasms. Presence of potassium will decrease them. I can say why if anyone is interested, but it seems that most people on this board laugh in the face of science - not sure if they're scared by it or just think it's equivalent to witchcraft. :p
