What Gauge Speaker Wire Do I need?

What gauge speaker wire should I use for my home theater system, consisting of a Yamaha Amp and some JBL speakers. Good quality, but nothing outstanding, so I'm wondering what gauge wire do I need.

16 guage should be lovely, buy it at radio shack. you dont need anything more expensive.

Thanks dude, that's what I figured, I wanted to make sure though. I didn't need any moster cable here, but I did get some monster cable for my DVD to HDTV connection with Progressive Scan on component ouputs Actually this is my Dad's, but I still like looking at it.

Haha...I'm getting monster cable for my system, cause I can get it for the same price as regular cable

ditto that. "audiophiles" will try to sell you oxygen free twisted pair cables for 4.99/foot and tell you "I can hear the difference! Can't you?! They sound so much better with my cables that cost me an arm an a leg!" Bah. It's a psychologically percieved difference, created to justify the price they paid.

so yeah, 16 gage radio shack is fine.

oh yeah, another good place to get cable is home depot or lowe's or whatever. usually about 15 cents a foot i think, cut to whatever length you need.
