What gaming res. are you targeting? (and what gpu do you intend to use for that?)

What monitor resolution are you gaming on (or intend to game on)?

  • 1080p @ 60Hz?

  • 1080p @ greater than 60Hz?

  • 1440p/1600p @ 60Hz?

  • 1440p/1600p @ greater than 60Hz?

  • 4k

Trying to get a sense of what gpu you all are using now, or intend to use soon, and what kind of resolutions you are shooting for?

I have an amd 6870 right now with only a gig of memory, and one of the korean achieva shimian 2560x1440 panels.

I intend to upgrade my gpu to an amd 290 once more details and pricing are released as I think it will be the best card for the price(hopefully) at that res.

I don't care about 1080p. I don't care about 4k. I don't care about multi monitor setups. I care about how well a gpu can handle the 2.5k res monitors which are the ONLY mass market higher res screens out there. 300 dollars beats thousands for something with a playable refresh rate (don't mention the Seiku, that panel is slow as hell and unsuitable for games).

Amen brother. Need to add 1920*1200 IPS/PLS

I forgot about that one, but if I hadn't I would have lumped it in with 1080p just like 1440/1600.

It's so close to the point of not really mattering. 1440p is a REAL jump, not 1200. And it's not even expensive anymore.

I guess it depends on why you are asking. If it's to gauge the target gpu performance, then they are very similar. If you want granularity on monitor preference though, you can't lump them together.

got a 120Hz monitor, and upgraded to a GTX680 for that. although with today's games, i would need SLI 680s for 120FPS. however...i don't play today's games! :D

No love for the low resolutions... :colbert:

1680x1050 here! Waiting to see how G-Synch turns out before I buy a new monitor.

1920x1080 @ 120hz and 2560x1600 @ 60 which it just so happens is about the same number of pixels per second, so works out to be very balanced. Powering it with 2x 580 SLI overclocked slightly, >99% run well maxed out.

I am running 2560x1440 @60hz. Running a single 560ti right now as I upgraded the monitor fairly recently (I was running 1080p@60hz). I'm in the market for a new card within the next year or so and am in the process of deciding if I should get something after this round of releases and price cuts or wait for Maxwell/whatever's next from AMD.

I want to be able to play Bioshock Infinite at 1440p at 60fps for $250. As far as I can tell, we're not quite there yet.

What up 1680x1050 dual monitor. Monitor was $50 shipped off eBay. Thing probably uses that much in power each year though...

5760x1080, quadfire 7950s.

I don't seem myself upping the resolution until 4K becomes affordable enough for me to pickup 3 or 5(portrait mode :)) displays.

1080p for now. I just picked up a new 39" tv three days ago. Good for gaming. Not so good for text but I still have my 28" LCD for that use. Waiting to see how these new 4k monitors work out.

Edit: Using a 6950 but planning to upgrade that in November to a 280x or nvidia equivalent.
