Metroid Movie

JOY

Variety.com is reporting that Hollywood producers Warren Zide and Craig Perry (whose credits include Final Destination and American Pie) have acquired the rights to make a movie based on Nintendo's Metroid game series. The producing duo is currently seeking out writers, directors, and some actors and actresses to fill out the roles of all involved. Here's the preliminaries, courtesy of Variety:
The story is set in a once peaceful galaxy, which has its prosperity shattered by a startling discovery: On a routine mapping expedition of a planet, a survey crew discovers a new airborne life form -- the Metroid. Able to engulf other living beings, feed on their energy, and multiply in great numbers, they prove a terrifying menace. Female bounty hunter Samus Aran is commissioned by the Galactic Federation to eliminate the pests, but she soon discovers that pirates with a stolen Metroid specimen are plotting to breed an build an unstoppable army.

Yah I think making movies out of the Final Fantasy games would be great. They must stay with the storyline though. Cause the last final fantasy movie didn't really catch my attention.

Neither of those.

I always thought The Diablo Series would make a good couple of movies.

The Sims :p

Imagine an interative movie theater, were people in the theater would be able to interact with each other. The result would be presented on the main screen.

Come one, it's a geek dream come through!

I would say Planescape: Torment, but part of the genius of the game was how many different ways you could play: good/evil alignment that changed by your actions and made a difference, all the companions you could travel with, quests that seemed more than package runs, even different characters you could fall in love with (or not). Picking just one fixed path through the story would almost be a betrayal of everyone who chose a different path.

Hmm, Fallout 1 could make a cool anime.

A movie based on FF6... That would be crazy sweet. Man I wonder who would play Setzer? Locke? Mmm... Celes.

I wonder how they would portray the breaking of the world. And Espers and yum!
