<< Scootin159, what does work on that car of yours? :) >>

The important stuff:

Engine
Transmision
Brakes (not emergency brake - real brakes)
Emergency brake will go on ok, just won't dis-engage
All exterior lights
Seatbelts
Guages

My wife's car, '83 Z-28, has factory cruise control that has never worked ever since we bought the car back in '92. Here lately the cruise control wants to start working at the worst times! Sometimes as you let off the gas and get ready to put on the brakes the cruise tries to get you back up to 45mph, hit the brakes and it turns off. Wait a couple of seconds and it tries it again. This comes and goes real sporadically. The first time it happened it scared the crap oughtta me though!:Q

My 94 Ford Ranger has a few little quirks..

after rain the brakes are REALLY touchy the next day..
the heater/fan only has two states, high power, or off (so i either get the maximum fan, or nothing)
in 4 wheel drive it has problem turning corners and hops along (and i did spend money to get u-joints replaced.. grr)
you cant put it in first unless you are stopped or going less than 5km/h... (kinda annoying in stop and go traffic)

I have a friend who's car was in an accident so one of the front headlights pointed into the sky at a high angle.

We called it the car from hell because it would turn off street lamps at night as you drive down the road leaving a trail of darkness.

The first time I went off roading in my truck I had a little accident and took out the front bumper. I was able to replace the bumper but my windsheild wash fluid tank was toast :Q. Now I carry a water bottle around with me to spray my front window.:D

<< A plastic deflector got broke off of my rear windshield wiper and when I would it the rear wiper fluid button it would squirt a stream of wiper fluid about 10-15 feet out the back of the car.

Awesome anti-tailgate device! :D
>>

One night I was driving home in my 95 subaru legacy and flew off the road into a wheat field. Now whenever I turn on the heat/ac it blows the little wheat pellet/seed/funny-looking-things out of the vents.

Sometimes while listening to the radio in my '94 Pontiac Bonneville, the volume will suddenly just crank up all by itself...I about pissed my pants the first time it happened. :)

I had a 85 Ford tempo with a bad CV joint. I would drive 50 miles the CV joint would fall out of the front axle, I'd stop shove it back in and take off for another 50 miles. I have a 80 mustang with the drivers seat busting through the floorboard. My ass is inches from dragging on the ground.

Ummm you guys do know that on a part time four wheel drive truck (Like a Ranger) that you should only use four wheel drive on loss surfaces and not pavement. When you use it on pavement the drive train can bind when you are turning. Sounds like that's what's happening.

<< the Oil gauge goes up and down alot >>

If it's your oil pressure gauge, I imagine it should do that. Higher RPMs = higher oil pressures

'94 Nissan Altima. Runs fine, but whenever I accelerate something underneath my car makes it sound like tin cans clanging together. I got it fixed, but it started again.

BTW, since it only has 4cyl (150hp) the acceleration is mediocre at best... it gives me plenty of opportunity to look at the expressions of the pedestrians every time i accelerate. They look at me as if I'm driving in first gear at 50mph.

Geeze, I had a 95 Nissan Sentra GXE and it had no quirks. So I bought a 2000 Sentra SE and still no quirks. Looks like I'm missing out!

The tin can sound is probably a loose exhaust mount.
