What freakin MD recorder to get.....

I have read reviews of a alot of Minidisc recorders and no one agrees on anything.

I am looking at the following:
Sony MZR70PC
Sony MZR37SPPC
Sharp MDMT15S
Sharp MDMS702B

I know the sharp 702 is the least expensive but I want the best quality for the money. I want to try and keep it under $200.

Anyone have any opinions on which ones are better than others and good places to buy them?

Jim

I'd suggest the Sony MZR91 even though its not on your list.

Its an excellent recorder and its one of the smallest too! Also the recordings and playbaack are clear and it has amazing battery life!! I don't charge it for a week and I use it everyday!

That's a bad question to ask, slippery, unless you mean special titling or other features, it records just like other portable recorders. BTW, I have an R37 and, like Entity, I think it rulez. It's not top-of-the-line, either, so you could probably get one for a great price.

The MZR91 is a great model, but super expensive too. 🙁

I got my MZR37 for $110 or so (maybe it was $130, I forget; it was last year) and have booted a few shows with it. It all really depends on your microphone.

If you decide you want a good mic to boot live shows, I have a Sony MCS-957 I'm trying to get rid of. Paid $300 for it. LMK.

I don't really need a mic right now but thanks for the offer. I am just looking for a minidisc recorder that gives good quality recordings but doesn't cost much more than $200.

I would love to find the MZR37 for $110. Cheapest I have found it is for $130 on eb@y.

My brother has Sony Minidisc recorder. Not sure on the model though. I love using it. There is an upcoming concert I would like to record. What type of microphone should I get, and whereabouts can I find it?
