I guess it is time to get a new desktop.
I have not found any online reviews with FPS, so maybe folsk here can give us an idea of what a typical machine is getting.

Whatever completely smooth and not a single hiccup is...

This is on a 1.5 year old i5 750, 4Gb Ram (OMFG, I don't remember RAM being that cheap when I built my machine), and new-ish AMD 6850. Until new suxbox and PS4 (lolz) comes out, looks like I'm all set.

Edit: Oh ya, running at 1920x1200, DX11 and Tessellation on.

I'm not really sure how bad fraps effects frame rates to be honest, but a GTX 570 on a 3.8ghz 965 PII looks to be getting about 40+ fps at a 1080p resolution. This guy claims fraps cuts frames in half though ... :hmm:

Another AMD Gaming Evolved game. Shogun II total war ran so bad on my 460 upon release I didn't even bother playing it until updated drivers came out. Hopefully that's not the case with this title.

between 30 and 50. Not sure what my settings are though, pretty much just whatever the game set it to before it launched the first time.

Q6600, gtx460 1gb, 4gb 1680x1050

It stutters a lot though, but the frame rate stays smooth.

Drops below 30fps on a single HD 6970 at 2560x1600 with maxed out DX11 details and high FXAA.

Generally it is smooth, running in the 40s and 50s and up. Graphically intensive scenes bog it down and i wish my HD 6990 was working. i am now playing it on my GTX 580 and it seems to be the same experience as with the HD 6970.

Is there any sort of wizbang technology just around the courner that would keep any of you from purchasing a PC today because you want to wait for it?

Gahh I need to get this game.

Anyway the game likes quad cores and it is light on the GPU.

I'm glad I decided to balance my system out instead of spending it all on the GPU.

Not sure exactly as I am playing with vsync on. But I never drop below 60fps with the setup below.
