What forums software should I use on my site?

Hey guys, Im setting up a message board for my friends at my site. And I have the option of using phpBB2, Invision Board, or OpenBB. I was wondering if anyone has had any expierences with any of these and what they thought? Only one I know of is phpBB2, which has been pretty cool, and i'll probally use.

I've used both phpbb2 and IBF but I prefer IBF out of the two. I like its administration better, it simply makes more sense to me and is easier to do things with. I also like the fact that it's relatively fast and lightweight (easy on server resources). phpbb2 has a strong following and good community with a plethora of mods though. Either way you couldn't go wrong with one of those two. 🙂

Invision board is more refined and I prefer it over phpBB. I have used both.

a lot of people these days are using IPB over phpBB, I personally prefer phpBB but only because I have yet to install or use IPB.

i use phpbb but it's still has some bugs with the upgrade but since you are doing a fresh install, you cant go wrong with phpbb. go look at their forum and read all the threads of people complaining about bugs though.

Invision is very good. Of course, I prefer wBB2. 😉

I like my FuseTalk Beta. 🙂 But otherwise, go with phpBB2.
