I have an ATi tuner w/no onboard encoding so I have to use my 2500+ to do it. I tried to use MPEG-4 which was okay but slowed my computer up a ton. I then tried MPEG-2 which seems to have audio issues, the audio sounds funny with the mouths moving, not quite right (soundstorm sound card). I think I can try WMA or something, what do you guys find the best?

this is real time encoding/recording. is there a format i can record to that takes up a ton of space but i can shrink later? thanks.
 
Small clips for the net I use wmv and it works fine for me.
