TastyCakes... I can't get them in Connecticut.

Nobody bakes a cake as tasty as a TastyKake :^)

Yeah... why aren't these things sold nationally? They kick Little Debbie's ass!

While there are some here, I find them not to be terribly fresh. California is a bit better.

@Newbian - I hope that was meant to be a joke :p

What do you consider fake Japanese food?

It's no contest. Little Debbie's are garbage. TastyKake's closest competitor is Entenmann's, and I think they're regional also.

Good sushi
Real (not instant) ramen

"Entenmann's is a bakery brand now owned by Canadian food conglomerate George Weston Bakeries. In markets west of the Mississippi, it is distributed under license by the US operation of Mexican food corporation Grupo Bimbo. It was started by a German immigrant in Brooklyn in 1898, shortly thereafter establishing headquarters in Bay Shore, New York on Long Island. Their cakes and snacks were formerly distributed only in the Tri-State Region but are now distributed in many grocery and convenience store locations in the United States."

Wierd, I never knew Entenmann's was local.

Godfathers Pizza. That would require a long ass road trip.
Even better would be Rocky Roccoco pizza, but that would require a plane ride.

I never said anything about fake, but rather real authentic/fresh Japanese food, nothing like California rolls (wtf?) And a lot of maki they've created in the states, which tastes disgusting.

If you say you like real Japanese food, you obviously don't like some other kind of Japanese food. I just assumed you meant fake.

I have a generally good tolerance for food, but unfortunately, most stuff I eat in the US tend to be tweaked for a more American palette, which sometimes isn't bad, but it makes me long for the food I ate when I used to live in the respective countries.

What? There's still one here. I'm always torn between the Original and a pizza when I go there... so I'll get one of each, eat some of each, and take the rest home for later.
