I just downloaded the xvid codecs, when I extracted them I got an xvidcore-1.1.0-beta2 folder. There's lots of folders within that one. What do I do now? There isn't an .exe in the folder.
Always use an installer - never just extract files.
HOWEVER I would recommend FFDShow to replace ALL your codecs. I had a lot of problems with different codecs interfering with each other. All I install on all my systems - even my Media Center PC - is FFDShow. It supports every codec out there. More info here: http://soldcentralfl.com/flyingpenguin/penguin_blog.shtml#divx-fix
I got FFDShow, but DVDSanta said to make sure I have xvid codecs so I thought I download those and during the installation it would notify me if I already had the codecs.
I have your site bookmarked, FlyingPenguin.
