What CAD program did you do that in?

KIcad. My first time doing this so figured I'd start with something simple.

Nothing is made in Canada. Not the PCB, nor the components.

Also, where is the Ethernet header?

They do have a factory here, but guess you need to specify if you want it done here. Might cost more. The ethernet version is planned down the road. Want to play with STM32 and get all that figured out first, was going to use Atmega but STM32 has more options and more program memory and might be more future proof. This one is just a quick fix that will work with a RPI. Going to look at Home Assistant next to do the actual logic.

The boards are designed to fit in this style enclosure... if I got all my measurements right. :p

The ethernet one will probably just be a full size board that takes up the whole enclosure. I made these ones small for modularity as they make different versions of this enclosure and they *should* all fit in each one.

I'd been feeling really good lately, so I decided to tempt fate and have a cup of coffee yesterday.

Ah, sweet balance. Hopefully I can at least salvage this evening.

I'm sitting in my chair, take a hit of snuff, and am just scrolling around online. I then think what's that smell?! It kinda smells like cucumber, with a bit of fruit. I'm melting candle dregs on top of my stove, but those aren't scents I do. Candle season is autumn/winter, with the typical scents for those seasons. The smell isn't terrible at this point, but very wtf. As the snuff starts to clear, the scent becomes more pronounced. Fucking stinkbug. Where's the fucking stinkbug?! I'm looking, looking... then I see it. A little bastard on my pants. Not the marmarated. Some little green fucker. All I smell is stinkbug now. I hate those fucking things :^S

I had a package that was being delivered via FedEx that required a signature...

It was scheduled for delivery Saturday but I wasn't going to be home so I requested for it to be held at a Fedex location so I could pick it up.

On Monday, it was out for delivery around 7AM and that was the last update for the package.

On Tuesday morning, I stop by the Fedex location and lo and behold, it was delivered there on Monday.

I assume since it required my signature, the delivery status wasn't updated because it wasn't signed for. I sign for the package and immediately get the notification that the package was delivered.

I got a notice in the mail that there was a data breach possibly affecting the personal data of Blue Cross Blue Shield clients. I had BCBS coverage up to this past July, and the fact that I received a letter means my data was involved (possibly including my SS #).

I did better with the mail I got. I got notice some payment processor was getting out of the payment process business. I'm thinking "Who are you again?". I guess I paid someone using their services, but I don't do recurring anything, so there's nothing for me to do. It's still been bugging me about who they are.

Getting ATT Fiber installed today. tech is an hour late, ok no problem.

Initially wanted to install the box through the garage wall, but my office and game room is on the other side of the house. After much discussion, he is going to lay enough fiber cable that will loop around from the back of the house, and out to the office room in the front.

Hope when the next crew come to bury the cable they won't make a mess of the lawn...

We had fiber installed around 6 years ago and they used a bore instead of a trench to lay the line so it didn't tear up the lawn. This was done by a smaller telecom called MTCO so hopefully ATT does the same for you.

I have 13 WD external HDD and one is not showing up on my machine. But I have no idea which is which. I might have to actually label them.

Oh man, I just went through that. One of my drives in a RAID array failed. Drive 4. Which one is that? Who knows! In the new array, it's apparently drive 7 now.

I track each drive with serial number in a spreadsheet and which bay they're in. That way if I get a failure I can cross reference the spreadsheet to make sure I pull the right drive by using smartctl to lookup serial number. Pulling the wrong one would make for a VERY bad day.

disconnected them all, plug in one at a time, then disconnect and move to a designated usb port and proper order on the shelf so now I know which is which.

Aldi hasn't had frozen breakfast sandwiches for a month now. I've been experimenting with stuff from groceryoutlet, with mixed success. It's ranged from mediocre-great. One of the experiments was JimmyDean sandwiches, which I had never had before, but suspected were repackaged for aldi. Aldi's are far superior to the JimmyDean. Dean's are better than nothing, but barely so. I hope whatever's going on with aldi gets reconciled soon. You can't count on groceryoutlet having anything in particular. it comes and goes.

One of the local radio stations started playing 24/7 Christmas music a couple of days ago. Lowe's had their full Christmas display out over a month ago.

The War on Christmas™ is only because Christmas is invading other holidays. This needs to stop.
