When I changed banks and had to change all my bills to the new bank, half of them not only want a void cheque, but they want it FAXED. Like, an actual fax. Not email, not even by normal mail, but fax. What is this, 1934?

Well this sucks I think my mail server VM is toast. It was acting ridiculously slow. Like even SSH shell took forever to process any text. Decided to force reboot it since a regular reboot just hung, but now I fucked up the file system. I get that dreaded ctrl+D grub screen that drops you into a useless shell where you can't really do anything. Seeing that screen basically means a clean install. Problem is, it's mail, and mail SUCKS to setup. It's why it's still running on Fedora Core 9. I just can't be bothered to migrate everything. I need to do it, I just never feel like it. It's just so tedius setting up all the mailboxes and procmail rules etc.

But looks like I probably won't have a choice now.

I rebooted it again and it's doing a FSCK now, but that's what it did a while ago before it dropped me in that shell.

I've been in the South for 55 years and had never seen/heard of them until about 10 years ago. Found the head/front legs on one in the back yard. I was like WTF?

Well that shell it drops me into has the fsck command. Usually that shell can't do crap. I might be able to fix this error... fingers crossed.

I thought the problem would be much worse when I saw the control-D error screen but it was just a file system error. Maybe that's why it's been so slow...

I still need to retire that old server though. The install date is 2008 lol.

I was just looking out back, and I saw one of those big ass European hornets go into my roof eave. I guess I've got those things again this year. They scare me. I lay in bed, and hear them banging against the window trying to get in(they're attracted to light). I suppose one benefit is they got me to turn my kitchen lights out before going to bed. Last year, I think they were in the attic, and came down through the recessed light fixture. NOT what I want to find in the morning, and I can now enough that extra 5¢/day in my pocket. yay...

Ive had another mystery parcel from amazon.Ear plugs lol.So far ive had ear plugs,plastic door stops,elasticated shoulder support,metal drinking straws,phone case cover.There is an obvious scam going on here,im not sure what it is(ive not been charged for any of this crap).Amazon have asked for a picture of all this crap(the parcels they came in) and have no idea what is going on,and said keep,donate or dispose of.They also gave me a 5 pound voucher for my troubles.very strange.

Ugh, I am hating going into work more and more. I just do more and more "app/tech support" type stuff cause that department is understaffed and kind of inept, and my co-workers (our dev team has been short handed for years, they refuse to hire anyone) tend to ignore requests so it gets pushed to me. I hardly do any development work, and then it's VB6 crap half the time. fml

I hate that my credit card statement does not show the balance next to each transaction like bank statement does. Couple that with the fact that credit card transactions are always delayed, it makes it very hard to track stuff. The last time I logged in my balance was 300ish so I paid it. Now it's 600. I don't even know where that came from. I see no transactions to account for it, but maybe they are old transactions, and when I paid 300 it was just not updated yet so it did not actually get fully paid off, but hard to really tell because it does not show the balance next to transactions.

Err credit card statement has the amount next to each transaction. I don't know what you are asking for.

Also. 300 on cc? The taxes portion of my cc purchases is more than that.
