45 degrees outside right now :(

55 here but it should be warming up to 70. A few degrees colder upstairs than downstairs; I'm beginning to suspect the energy company didn't air seal my attic, or the entire attic. I should do that before winter sets in.

The bungee held the cover on the grill. I used the grill yesterday and forgot to put the cover back on, leaving the bungee on the ground. This morning I was putting up the hummingbird feeders and saw that I needed to take of the grill and went to pick up the bungee.

It was gone!

I found it under the lemon tree, very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet but the fruit of, er stop that. Anyway, it was chewed and gone.

my new egg beater/mixer combo has the mixer attachment that doesn't work because it's bent but I don't know if I bent it trying to force it in.

Why is it that these smoke detectors in your house only alert (chirp) you of low battery or end-of-life when it's the middle of the fricken night?

Got 2 hours of sleep last night. We have about 6 detectors in the house and I swear the last 3 incidents I can remember were all overnight. F-UUUUUUUUUUUU.

Wired.com added a paywall & I'm currently trying to decide if it's worth ten bucks a year. You can either get the digital-only version, or the paper magazine & digital version for that price. Plus a free Yubikey, whatever that is. I don't like a lot of clutter in meatspace, so I probably wouldn't get the free magazine. But I dunno if I ten-dollars-care about Wired or not...

I dunno, sometimes they have really great articles. But there's reddit, medium, and so many other places to read really great articles now too. Hmm. $10 a year is amazingly cheap if I get it with the magazine, but...eh.

I pay the health insurance company.
The insurance company sends the money to their pay agent (a separate company).
The pay agent sends the money the doctor's billing processor (a separate company).
The billing processor sends the money to the doctor.

Somebody lost the payment… in July. :(
I'm still chasing it down… in October. :( :(

I've hardly been getting any days off this schedule so I'm super tired, and also can't get anything done. Not as bad as working 8x5 but almost as bad. Been trying to take every hour I can get to get my solar panels up but it's annoying only being able to work 1-2 hours at a time while I could have it done in one day if I had a day off where it does not rain. The few days off I DO have it never misses. Always rains. Today I figured I would at least preinstall the brackets on the solar panels but one of the nuts is too coarse and would not thread in, so I wasted lot of time fucking with that and they ended up fusing together. Now I have to go to Home Depot to get matching bolt/screw to replace the one that is fuckered. I could try to use a torch but not worth screwing with it any longer. Was hoping to get the solar panels up tomorrow but having to go to Home Depot is going to waste the little time I have after work. I could try to go during my lunch but it's all the way at the other end of town and part of the highway is a grid lock at lunch time because it's down to 1 lane so I'd never make it there and back on time. I have no choice but to wait for a day off at this point and that won't be for a while. I'm off wednesday but it's suppose to pour rain. Of course. Always how it ends up.
