Bought a huge bag of Halloween candy early so I wouldn't have to buy it at inflated prices (regular bags go for $15 the day of Halloween, 4x the price of normal). Same as last year, it is slowly disappearing lol...
Last Tuesday I went into Costco to buy some big-bag candy and they were $15/bag. Sorry, fuck people's kids (and my tummy). Maybe I should have painted my house after Halloween.

It is 10 p.m. and 70 degree outside and it was in the upper 80s earlier in the afternoon. Freaking strange weather. So hot for Oct/Nov.

It's gonna be hot again some of next week; ~70F. This shit's pissing me off. I wonder what the excuse is this year; El Niño? La Niña? Or maybe some other thing that no one knew about when I was growing up, when fall happened in October, and water froze in winter :^S

On the bright side, I ordered my cup and coloring book; $50 shipped D^:

It's been around freezing point here latetly. Goes a bit above during the day then lowers at night. No snow yet though, it's been late in the past 10-15 years. When I was a kid we'd have snow on the ground by now. Used to almost always be snow on the ground when trick or treating.

They actually did get snow down south in Ottawa.

I went to Home Depot and Lowes looking for a piece of wood to create a larger keyboard tray with and couldn't decide on anything. I don't really want to spend a fortune on a board but I'm tired of my kb sliding off my current tray which tends to break the attachment points on the wrist rest at the base the kb. I also want more of the tray to extend beyond the desktop and I've extended it once already but I want to add at least 3" more.

That's brutal. We barely even get that in middle of summer. We get a week or two of it at times though. Pretty much stay indoor with A/C full pin type of weather. I covered my A/C unit about a week ago. :p

I know you are used to my complaining about the heat by now, but I just want to turn off the a/c and open up the damn windows. Trust me, this weather is lovely in the fall. I'll take 75F days/ 55-60F nights forever. No a/c. No heat. But when we've got this extended summer. Ugh. My mother (in the Adirondacks) is experiencing much of what you describe. I loved it when I was a young adult. Back when I stayed out late. Moving from up north to Texas and could go out at night with shorts and be very comfortable. I remember visiting with my friends back up north and needing a jacket at night in mid-July. Not here in North Texas.

When I went camping last year it dipped to -1 at night in middle of July. LOL. That is somewhat abnormal though, July is typically 25's or so with the odd 30. We brought really light sleeping bags with fear that it would be too hot to sleep in the tent . Oh, it was not too hot at all. lol. What sucks is having to get up at 5am to go pee. Nice view of the lake though with the haze. :p

I just moved a new nightstand near my bed. I've since had nose and throat irritation which are, apparently, symptoms of formaldehyde exposure. The piece of shit is particleboard but I let it air out in an empty room for just over a month. Fug. I do not want to move it back.

On the other hand, my bare pine shelf and table stunk worse for weeks when it was hot and humid outside.

I'll be working Halloween so won't be giving out candy this year. Closed lights, car gone (I'll be at work) and pray my house does not get egged. :p

Most of the people that come by in my area are little kids with their parents though, so I don't imagine I would get egged. lol They also start at like 4pm, when it's not even quite dark yet. So I might actually get some before I head to work.

As for a FWP for today, I just downloaded Mr. Robot but VLC won't open it, so now I'm downloading another hoping it will open. First time I run into something that VLC can't open, actually.

Was in line at the grocery store forever today when I had to deal with a WIC transaction ahead of me. After about ten minutes they finally opened up a second aisle and the woman with a cart full of stuff behind me conveniently pulls out and goes into that one, when I'm been waiting longer than anyone and only have three items. fml

I gotta read headlines today about how Inferno bombed at the box office but checking Box Office Mojo, it's already cleared over $100 million overseas. Not a huge success but not a bomb.

I hate when that happens. I had this lady that was arguing with the cashier over a 25c coupon holding the whole line up. I almost felt like just giving her a quarter to shut her up, the time I spent waiting is worth more than that.

FWP: The new system we use to monitor servers, routers, switches etc is a piece of crap. You need to click through a bunch of crap just to find out the process and contact, and the whole thing is just a big wall of text and every time the app refreshes you lose what you were doing then have to go back. Who the hell designs this crap? (HP apparently)
