Costco now has what I'm guessing are specialty/high end beers. I had to try to choose one. Definitely a 1st world problem. Maybe a .1% problem (speaking globally).

So after picking the bottle I like the most, it turned out to be a Chimay grand reserve. Think it was 8 bucks for a large bottle. Probably .5 liters, will have to check.

It's 9% alcohol which isn't a lot higher than regular beer like Stella Artois, but really gives you a nice warm buzz. A lot nicer than wine and even hard liquor. It's a little hoppy which I normally don't like but this is pretty good.

btw- Costco 24pack of 16oz guiness cans for $25 is

$1/can for guiness. cant beat that!

But Guinness poured from a nitrogen tap is greater than all.

I never really liked it any other way.

The best Guinness is the Guinness foreign extra from Nigeria.

Seriously.

I've heard that, but never had the opportunity to try it. Guinness Extra Stout in the US is made in Canada now. When that first happened, I noticed a distinct quality drop. It tastes better now(I think), but it's hard to say. It's been a long time since I've had the Irish product, and a lot of crappy beer in the meantime might have influenced my current perception.

Stupid dumb cheap son of a bitch. Me.

I almost lost my prepaid cell phone balance -- and number -- because I forgot to top-up yesterday. Just did it, looks like they had some leeway and I didn't auto-lose the balance when the clock struck 12. Completely forgot yesterday... but I remembered every god damn day prior to yesterday. Didn't want to top-up yet because I'd have to top up a day or two earlier next year.

I've been remembering for every day of the past week except for yesterday. Still, probably should have set an alarm or put a post-it on my phone and my phone on my desk. Checked cell company's billing terms... looks like they now give 7 days after the expiration date to top-up.

New problem: carried 18 pound sack of rice about 2 kilometers -- I like the exercise -- dropped it just once... when I just closed my front door after getting home.

Stopped in the dollar store to see if they got more fishies in, and I'm going on a month with no luck. Looks like the fish train has left town. It's Beach Cliff kippered herring. They taste especially good, and have less liquid packed than other brands. I also like the attractive retro graphics.

I still have ~50 tins, but they go quick.

Gah! You might as well eat cat food. Try King Oscar and you'll never look back.

King Oscar comes from the same Canadian packing houses, and I'm sure from the same boats. I've had just about every brand out there, and they're all very similar-identical.

Your taste buds have atrophied. Some catches may be from Canadian waters but, they are not smoked or packed there.

I've never had a problem with Beach Cliff myself, but haven't even bought them in awhile myself.

Have never tried King Oscar so I really couldn't say I guess. They do see pretty highly rated in reviews.
