My new apartment doesn't have near the insulation and warmth as my old place. My old place I hardly had to run the heat and it always about 70 deg. F. The new place, it's like 60 deg. F outside and frickin 65 in my apartment. Fuck that shit. Too cold for my ass; good thing the rent is almost $300/month cheaper at the new place cause I have a feeling my heating bill is gonna be a lot higher there.

For my second first world problem, I get recruiters about once a week emailing me with new positions (NOT offers, just job openings). Fuck them. I'm very happy where I'm at and get paid pretty well, and I've only been here a little over a year. One dude I told I wasn't interested and he kept on bugging me. Fucker.

This sounds thread worthy....

Very thread worthy... I can write a book.

Long story short, big "tough guy" who's "tough" to a few people and a giant pussy to the rest of the world. This guy is married, mid-30s, bought a house, and has a good paying job but still drives his mother's car (the mother is retired) and runs home to eat/sleep/shower if the wife is busy or out of town.

He made sure to buy a house within walking distance of his mother's and made his wife, when she was still a girlfriend, rent apartments a block from his mother's house. He also made his mother feed his girlfriend daily for years when the mother was working a low-income job with a deadbeat husband. I heard he still goes home for dinner at his mother's almost daily.

I have to go out tonight at 11PM, and grade bridge beams. If the deflection points are marked, it'll take 2-3 hours. If I have to do it, it'll take 6+. I hate walking steel :^(

My mother put me in debt, quit her job, and forced my brother and I to take care of her as soon as we reached working-age, which made it tough to afford our own places. Many who will never have kids again do similar things, especially single parents. The only thing that helped our mother was getting her a couple dogs, but she's now genuinely unable to take care of them without some help. She still has a tendency to spend beyond her means and requires our financial assistance almost every month.

As far as we know, this man's mom insisted that he continue coming for dinner as a similar ploy. He might not want to put her in a nursing home. He might want to keep eyes on her "deadbeat husband." Are you sure you are looking at this from the right perspective? Nothing I've heard so far implies anything criminal. I'm confused.

The wheel broke off the desk chair in my hotel room.

Then as the guy was bringing up the replacement, the wheel broke off that one.

That was just the character description to show the difference between his tough guy image and his actual dependency on his mother. Also, the mother is more than set financially and in good physical shape from what I know.

The potential felony is how he was recorded on video physically threatening or intimidating someone -- he walked up to the person, got within inches of the other party, and made a verbal threat. Before the recording, he did the same thing despite the other party telling him to back off with a phone in hand ready to call 911 -- victim told the guy to back off or 911 would be called.

P.S. About the car, the mother hasn't driven in years. She keeps it, pays for insurance, registration, etc. so he and the wife can use it.

Only direct flight to my brother's bachelor party has economy flights so expensive that I might as well get first class tickets.

Stop staying at hotels: Air B&B instead.

Wife has become Neiman Marcus shopping addict. Almost everyday I'm coming home and seeing one to three new designer handbags and wallets. She already maxed out one of my cards. I might have to temporary take the cards away.

Had a massive lunch for a work outing. Chowder, Ribeye, and dessert. Now i can't focus on any work related items and have been struggling to function all afternoon.

Fuuuuuuuu

Dead pixel right in the center of my laptop screen. I'm not ready to get a new lappy yet, this one is only 15 months old.

It's a mass produced, piece of shit piece of technology that is already obsolete. Understand that and you'll live happier.

I got so pissed off when I found a stuck red pixel on my $700 24" monitor -- fussed for months. Same with my $900 40" LCD TV with major backlight bleed in a corner -- I called technical support and got an on-site check to see if anything could be done. Don't give a shit about either item now 5+ years later, can replace both for $400 a pop or less.

I think my previous dentist was writing up all of this BS to get paid by the insurance company but now I don't have much left on my annual allowance. I think I need to do a deep cleaning on my teeth but I don't have enough to cover it.

Church.

I had a dentist do that and they explained that it was because I was a first time patient and that it was needed for first time patients. It used up all my benefits for the year AND stuck me with a $200+ bill all while they had a sign outside advertising the same service I wanted as "$69 for first-time customers." Obviously, that's only for ININSURED customers.

As a result, I could not come back in 6 months for my second cleaning. When I came back a year later they insisted that they needed to do X-rays and everything all over again because they consider you a new patient after 1 year.

Screw. That. I never went back. Now I get my teeth cleaned once a year for a $10 minimum donation at a charity dental thing. I usually give $30.

Dentists are HANDS DOWN the most conning of the "medical" group.

What better way to tell you that you need to pony up $2k for something that you can't even see?

Thankfully I found one dentist in town that isn't that way. Been going to him for 10+ years straight, have NEVER been asked to do anything after the standard clean/check-up.

Ugh... I've been going to the same dentist twice a year for the last 25 years. You'd think I would get a discount or something.

They keep asking me to get an X-ray since my last one was 2 years ago. No dental coverage right now so I don't want to pony up $150 to be blasted by radiation. And what the hell is 1 unit of scaling -- I know what scaling is, but what is a unit and why is it $50 each...
