Will be traveling next week all week to EST time zone so 1 hour ahead. In preparation I've been getting up 1 hour earlier so the transition will be easier. Getting up at 5AM in the dead of winter with no sunlight has been really tough. I know I will thank myself later next week when I naturally wake at 6AM.

Sports fan discussions on the internet are so fucking toxic. The Vikings hire a new GM who has a non-NFL background and people are commenting on social media that the guy is an idiot and won't last because he doesn't know how football works. I'm 99% sure he's getting this flak because he's a minority.

At 2:30 I just came to from having anesthesia and 30 minutes later they kicked me to the curb. Holy hell I'm groggy. I can't believe they just let you leave in this state.

Haven't had a flat tire in forever. I mean at least fifteen years if not twenty plus. Got my second flat in a week today.

Today I timed myself and it took me just under 10 minutes to put the donut on with the dinky jack and with talking on the phone briefly.

I guess I ran out of luck by finding a great girl to at least get serious about. Gonna keep that donut pumped up

This. Today just seeing this offended me. There should at least be some civil punishment available to dish out to those who invented this monstrosity.

I always read online people saying they found this or that high end appliance gently used on Craigslist for half the price of what you would pay in the store. I don't know where those people live but I check Craigslist regularly and have never seen anything remotely interesting for appliances.

I see quite a lot of appliances here but it's usually older stuff. The older stuff can be better sometimes though, at least when it comes to fridges. I hear nothing but problems from people who get newer fridges. I guess if you stick with the traditional brands like Kenmore or Frigidaire you're probably ok though.

Once I build my cabin I'll probably start looking for appliance deals so I can get everything I need for cheap. Probably be a while before I have 240v power though, 120/240v inverters are not cheap.

Got a new phone today, and screwed up putting on the screen protector. Not only did I get a couple grains of something on the screen after cleaning the hell out of it, it appears I put it too close to a curved edge, so I have bubbles under the glass. I guess I'll leave it til I crack it, but it sucks having a ghettoized phone that's only hours old :^(

I've never bothered with a screen protector myself, I like to laugh at the face of danger. :p I do always make sure to have a case that has a big enough ledge so that if it falls flat it won't hit the screen. But that won't protect from landing on a rock or something.

It's more for scratches. I work in dirt, and everything gets covered. The stock glass is durable, but a little scratch here and there adds up over a couple years. I'm skeptical the stick on glass does much if anything for impact.

Why is updating video drivers such a PITA? I just updated one on my work laptop and the screen went black for a second, then reappeared and the text was about 25% larger and everything looked distorted.

FWIW I've had a few glass screen protectors crack from a drop and when I took it off the actual screen was totally fine.

The Amazon guy left two very expensive batteries sitting on my front porch without ringing the doorbell.
On the other hand, weather is nice, so they were not sitting in the cold. Also the box was non-descript.
Oh, and inside the box was form-cut Styrofoam so they were well-protected.

We are fostering kittens and I woke up this morning to find a kitten chewing on sand paper.

Our spice cabinet is a nightmare. CFS. Ran across tiered racks...hot dayum, this is the answer.

Nope. The tiers aren't high enough so I still can't see what's on the 2nd/3rd row. Going to try adding a riser.
