Total Fucking Wankers

That works too.

But yeah when the Harper regime was in power he introduced this program so that companies can hire foreign workers and pay them below minimum wage, so they can make more money. Lot of companies started to get rid of their employees to replace them with these cheaper ones. Royal Bank was the one that kind of got the spot light but a lot of companies did and continue to do so as the program is still in place I think. It's basically a fine line between slavery, and not slavery.

I mentioned getting a filson gift card as a jul gift. I've been checking the site every day hoping the tin cloth cruiser vest would come back in stock. Hasn't come. I checked the wayback machine, and it looks like it was delisted a few years ago, and the last one they had wasn't oil finished. I thought that was a signature item?! I just ordered the tin vest...

I'm sure it'll be nice, but it isn't a cruiser :^(

The mineral show is going strong and my boss thinks I should be at work. So unreasonable.

bullshit, you cannot hire a TFW for below minimum wage, there's a lot wrong with the program but you are not allowed to pay them below the minimum wage, you also have to pay for their flights, their insurance etc etc etc...does it get abused by fast food places? you betcha

It’s a SNOWPOCALYPS! here in western WA!

:p

I’m on the coast and we got about 4” of snow here. Looks nice, but NOT venturing out until it melts off. Too many people seem to think 4wd makes them super drivers.

You can pay them below the US minimum wage IF you keep them in their own home country and hire them as a contractor. That's usually why they bring them in for training and send them back home as quickly as possible.

Getting a crazy amount of snow here and I'm at work, which means I'll have to dig out the car and then snowblow my driveway before I can even get to go to bed when I'm done my shift.

Was a fun drive coming in to work as none of the streets got plowed yet. Almost got stuck a few times. Have to admit it's kinda fun to drive in that though. :p

We had get our dog put to sleep :(

Sorry to hear.

Had a doctor's appointment and then went to fill my prescription afterwards, as I always do (I take my work lunch off for this and it's a 25 min drive). They said it would be 30 min wait. Fine, came back in 30 mins. Oh nope, it'll be another 25--30 mins. Came back in 30 mins or so. They check and said that the medication was switched to generics cause it's cheaper, which is fine with me, but the order that was supposed to be there today isn't there. So I have to return tomorrow. I had to wait an hour, while having to make up this time at work, to get told that? Jesus Christ.

Got my replacement pair of boots in from Thursday Boot Company. I had originally ordered some and the tips were delaminating after only like a week or two of normal use (I didn't even wear them every single day). Sent them back and got replacements, in the same size. The replacements are black where my original ones were black suede (they didn't have those in stock when sending out replacements). Ok fine. The fricking things are too big, and they're the same size and same model, just black leather as opposed to black suede. Now I gotta get an RMA and send these back. LMAO. I think I'm done with them; the delamination put a bad taste in my mouth and for $200 I could get 4 frickin pairs of nice looking boots at Kohl's.

And what's the deal with it being so hard to buy long johns at the store? I've looked at Walmart and Meijer (a store like Walmart here in upper midwest) and they might have just a few pairs available, and they're all XXL or L or something I don't wear. If you can even find those. I just find it strange, I mean it's not a weird thing, especially in winter. Ugh.

I'm just full of problems today. I just wanna go home and lay in bed and read my book and sleep. LOL

Dealing with this oddly cold weather here in Portland,OR.

(It's 25 degrees F outside right now at 6:35 AM.)

And, the temperature is not projected to get above 32 degrees F until after noon(12 PM).

Being at work this morning is going to suck.

I have a 10% coupon for AmericanTuna that expires today. I get on the site to order some smoked tuna in olive oil, and they're sold out :'^(

Excel. Balancing one of the checkbooks. Used =sum to total the checks that haven't cleared. Spent an hour looking for .45 because the block was formatted general with no decimal spaces. Idiot. If it wasn't someone else's money, I wouldn't have bothered.

Way back, I was analyzing data and the method for data collection required one to increase the density of data points gathered at certain points. I was plotting the data on a cumulative plot. According to the method of analysis, I was supposed to look for break points in the plots to determine some parameters. So I'm looking at the plots and there were the break points, text book perfect, except that they didn't make any sense at all. I went around and around trying to come up with a physical explanation for the values of the parameters that were so clearly revealed on the plots. Then I remembered that part about the plots being cumulative and the break points occurred exactly where the density of data points increased. Oops.

Having the worst luck with getting controllers (like Xbox 360/Xbox 1 type) to work with my computer.

(I mostly play FiveM,it's a community-based GTA 5 multiplayer mod.)

The controller, either 360 or the Xbox 1-(I bought the XB1 controller, hoping it would fix the problem) will work in single-player GTA V but not when I log in to FiveM.

They're recognized as controllers in-game,but won't work when you try to drive.

This is getting really weird.

Is there anyone else here who plays FiveM,and has a Xbox 1 controller hooked up to their PC?

(Wondering if I'm missing something to make things work.)

Never tried this or played GTA 5 on my PC, but on the 360 I know there are different controller settings for driving vs. walking/flying/etc. Maybe those need to be bound?

8 y.o. heat pump, the compressor is shot. P.O.S. was a P.O.S. from the factory. Waiting on prices for a compressor vs new gas pack vs new heat pump plus the cost of changing out the old leaky hard pipe. eff. Just mailed $3K for the yearly insurance on the house/cars. eff.
