The "lead in older homes" issue is really frustrating in that we know what to do but it doesn't get done and we all pay for the damage from lead poisoning even if we're not the ones poisoned. Some cities do have lead abatement programs but the scale of the problem is not being matched with resources.

I found a 1.4x tele-converter for my Sony A57 on Amazon Warehouse. I ordered on Wednesday using Prime so it would be here before the Lunar Eclipse this weekend.

UPS just dropped it off and it they shipped one for a Canon mount :(

Yet another Amazon delivery failure. Every time I actually want something quickly and pay for overnight shipping, they can't make it happen.

I find overnight or any fast shipping option is never worth the extra cost. I find most packages spend more time waiting to be shipped, than actually in transit.

Dude, you gotta get that money back. Back in 1915, that $0.05 probably could have bought you a horse and a steak dinner, with some change left over for a new pickaxe and some spurs and a cool cowboy hat.

I pay the health insurance company.
The insurance company sends the money to their pay agent (a separate company).
The pay agent sends the money the doctor's billing processor (a separate company).
The billing processor sends the money to the doctor.

Somebody lost the payment… in July. :(
I'm still chasing it down… in October. :(:(
…and the doctor's billing agent sent the bill to collections. I sent the collector a copy of the cancelled check. We'll see what happens. I should point out that the doctor's billing agent has received copies of the cancelled check three times already and never responds. At what point should I cry, "fraud"?

My camera does 24 frames per second. I was taking pics of birds in flight today. Now I have over a thousand pics to sieve through.

I guess it was worth it.

What kind of birds are they? Great picture!

edit:
Oh, and my fwp is I left my ppe at work, and want to try my new saw out. I'll probably use it anyway. It's pretty quiet, and I'll just have to be careful not to do something stupid like stick it in my leg or something. It's small enough that any potential kickback should be manageable.

Looks like it's going to be one of those days at work today. Weekends are either super quiet, or super busy, never in between. Today so far it's pretty busy.

Cut up some branches on the ground just to try it out. That's an angry little beaver. Carb needs some tweaking, but it's a solid runner. Really fun to handle. Can't wait to do some real work with it :^)

They didn't have sushi ready at Wegmans this morning. I had to reluctantly get a kung pao power meal instead. It was good, but it wasn't fucking sushi :^(

We have a small piece of a very large project involving multiple contractors. Things aren't going as well as they might. The customer sent out an update to all the contractors involved which included a summary of disputes to be resolved. One contractor replied, "What about us? We’re suing you too." :p
