I booked my open water SCUBA certification course and am taking a trip to Grand Cayman to do the checkout dives with the class next month, and I went to book a room at their group rates and the lower rate rooms are all booked, so I had to spend $50 more ($10/night) for a King Suite instead.

Oh and I'm also not sure yet if I want to do the advanced OW certification on this same trip since it's only 5 more dives after the 4 checkout dives. But they said I can let them know about that while in GC which is nice because I just want to see my comfort level before deciding.

Unless you geniuses have a solution, I'm going to have to get a smart phone. Mom, 78, let strangers in her house yesterday. She finally realized they were casing the place and "shooed" them out. So we're going to add motion detection cameras to her alarm so that we can see what's going on in real time, similar to ring. That requires a smart phone and someone with the spare time to check it when a notification comes in....yours truly. And it will let us turn her alarm on at night when she forgets.

Hope she appreciates me giving up my Luddite membership.

You can always pay someone to monitor it.

I think I accidentally drove through a funeral procession, and now I can't help but wonder if it was one or not, and I felt like a total asshole all day. There was a funeral today at the funeral home near my work place and as I got to the nearby 4 way stop I saw a limousine, did not think much of it, other than, neat, not something you see every day. Then it occurred to me that it was probably the lead car in the funeral procession heading to the funeral home, and I should have stayed stopped and let them all go through.

Don't they have to have little flags?

That's what I was thinking, but with rain, poor visibility etc I may have missed them, but chances are it was not the procession, I don't think they normally stop at the stop sign they just all follow close, so chances are the limo was just heading to the funeral but unofficially. Like the procession probably would have been after to go to the grave yard. Either way I'm probably overthinking this. :p

You only have yourself to blame if you get haunted.

I don't really dig girl scout cookies anymore. Dunno if they changed or my tastes changed, but they aren't as good as they used to be. Last couple boxes I got was just to give them money. I wasn't too excited about the cookies.

OT is work, right?

:p
 That is true, tho I mostly came here just to post that. Been pretty busy lately. I swear the big dogs (or manager types) here just have meetings all day. Seriously... they're on the phone all day. I guess that's work. Or telling others to do work. Either way!

I'm back for another bitch-o-the-day.

I really want a Surface Pro (2017 model, I'm not baller enough for the 6th gen ones) but dang, for the price of one you can get a pretty sick laptop for $900 or so. But the Surface is so sleek and sexy. Plus I think I'll get a lot of girls, when they see me with that thing it'll be like seeing my man Ryan Gosling naked helping a grandma with her groceries.

I mainly plan to use it for normal browsing as well as Android/.NET/Unity development, plus some gaming now and then. But I *don't* need a gaming laptop/device. I'd love to get the i7 model but the i5 is ok; I just want the 8GB/256GB specs (128 GB is too bush league).

Surface or no Surface, that is the question.

Speaking of Girl Scouts, the Boy Scouts had a table in front of Walmart and asked me to buy from them. They only had popcorns and nothing else. I purchased a small package and it was $10 and I didn't even like popcorns so I gave it to my co worker. Boy Scouts need to do better than just popcorns.

Agreed with the noted exception of the caramel chocolate covered pop corn is very good

I'm falling apart. My thumb doesn't hurt as bad, but I can't feel it at all unless I bump it. Then it hurts, and it's really swollen. My hips hurt from spur climbing, and I got a new blister today from cutting vines. My right knee also hurts off and on. Getting old eats shit.
