The power went out at my house for a few minutes and the UPS that my mining rig is on apparently could not handle the load so it shut off hard. I don't want to put it on my big UPS since that's for the more important stuff so I need the batteries to last longer.

I had that problem with my electricity. How, you may ask. That's an interesting story but basically PSEG f***ed up. I had 2 meters for different circuits and one had to be removed when the meter pan was replaced. They removed the primary rather than the other one. But they didn't shut off my power since as far as their system was concerned, I no longer existed. So I was essentially sucking on their tit for free. The only problem with that is that I had to assume they would eventually figure it out and I didn't want to get hit with potential fraud charges if I waited years to tell them. There's also the issue of a very, very large bill since the primary meter was still in place and ticking away.

It's terrible. Sometimes I think life would be easier if I were an asshole.
