Jackpot... think I found a store that buys books AND DVDs. I have a ton of both I want to get rid of, not really concerned about price because after shipping/fees, I'd be out money using eBay, and I barely make anything with Craigslist.

Now I have to hump a bunch of books/DVDs to a store... I hate doing stuff like that.
You're better off trying Amazon. I haven't sold anything on there in several years but they do still sell used books and dvd's.

Of course you still have the shipping issue but for most hardcovers in good condition, you should at least be able to get the 4th class postage. That's for the US but I assume that Canada also has special rates for bulk items.

No heavy drugs for LASIK, go for it! Well they give you tylenol 2's to take as you need to try to sleep immediately after the surgery, but they did nothing for me, I was to phsyced at the fact that I finally had the courage to get it done. I'm super squeamish with eyes so the whole idea of going through the surgery is what bothered me more than the end result. Though I was also worried that for whatever reason something goes wrong.

That's good and unfortunate at the same time. Tylenol 2s are kind of a joke... give me some 3s or some Adderall.

I've lived with shitty eyes for over 2 decades, and I know glasses/contacts inside and out, so I'm not completely sold. Lasik success rate is apparently over 90%, but if shit happens, I don't foresee a pretty future. And it sounds like I'll have to get reading glasses in about a decade anyway.

Yeah the fact of eventually needing reading glasses kinda sucks... but I figure, wearing glasses 24/7 vs getting 10 years of not needing them, and then only needing them to read. And by then maybe they'll have the tech to fix that, or they'll turn out to be wrong and it might be longer without needing reading glasses.

And yeah I think I took like 3 T2's, and then never took any after that. There is barely any pain though, like once in a while it stings, and you can't touch it, so it's hard, but then the sting goes away.

I still get some halos/starbursts after almost 2 years though, but it's not that bad. I don't like driving at night anyway, too many assholes with HID lights.

I considered it... but shipping any package/parcel here is at least $10, even letters as parcels or with tracking. Most of my crap is probably $20 or less new. After Amazon takes its cut, shipping, buying boxes/bubble envelopes, I'll probably be behind -- not even counting time/tracking and asshole scammers. Just want this shit gone, don't care about the money.

That sucks. In the US, you can ship up to one pound for $2.72 and 5 pounds for under 5 bucks - sort of like Subway (oh wait, they ditched that campaign didn't they).

That's another big one... I think you're not supposed to rub or touch your eyes for days until the flap heals. I'm always mashing my eyes consciously, no idea what I'd do when sleeping. Nightmare scenario: mashed the flaps off at night.

I have halo/starbursts, I think, with glasses/contacts already. Supposedly, it gets worse with Lasik.

I needed some lumber crayon, and Dixon is getting hard to find around here. If it isn't Dixon, it's crap. I ordered a couple boxes from Amazon, but it wasn't enough for free shipping. I got a puukko to get total up high enough. I don't need a new knife, but I really liked the one I got my daughter for jul, so I now have a new knife coming :^/

I didn't use my laptop for a couple weeks and I forgot to power cycle it for those weeks... so my battery decided to drop dead from a full charge. Had to plug it in just so I could charge it back up and remember to power cycle it for eternity. I fuqing hate batteries......................

Thought of selling the damn thing but a fully functional portable computer does come in handy every so often.

I had a small private ceremony for what seemed to be a couple hundred dead fruit flies. I didn't actually count them so that number might be high, but there were definitely a lot of them.

They are survived by a few renegades that didn't fall for the wine/vinegar trick - f***ing mutants.

I was very nervous about this too. The first week is the most critical, but really from what I read it takes a good year before it gets to a very safe zone. It never heals 100% but the amount of force required to damage it at that point would probably damage the eye anyway.

I've gotten very used to not rubbing my eyes even 2 years later, but my optometrist said I don't even have to worry anymore.

For 2 weeks when you go to bed you have to tape eye patches, they are transparant plastic shells with small holes. Kinda annoying trying to sleep with those if you sleep on your side, but I find I was so excited about the idea that I no longer needed glasses that the temp inconviniences were not a big deal for me. The eye drops were the hardest thing though, The idea of dropping liquid in my eye just makes me cringe, and I had to do it 3 times a day for like 2 weeks or maybe it was 4 I can't remember.

Once you are done all that stuff though, then it's total freedom.

Spent half an hour looking for a POS 128 MB SD card I dropped on the floor. I obviously didn't need/want it, but I had to figure out where it dropped considering how little shit there was for it to hide behind -- fell behind a folded carpet near where it dropped. FML.

Why people do not get their payment(s) ready when the cashier scanned their goods at the stores? Why wait until the total and then tumble into their purses/wallets?

Also, f**** the dumbasses that were too busy reading their phones and sitting there when the lights turned green. One of them gave me the finger and then tried to run me off the road. No wonder there are road rages.

The DOW is up 200 points today.
but the biotech stock that I'm speculating on and know nothing about is down. :(

it has a beta of 3.
that means whatever the broad market does, this stock usually does triple.
so dow +200 points mean +1.5% which should mean my stock should go up 4.5%.
WTF why not today?! :(

Remote for the TV stopped working. Tried new batteries - nothing. Not sure if I want to buy a replacement remote or go straight to the IR sensor on the TV. Maybe it's just dirty...

my point is still valid

I know. Same as people that drive slow on the left lane, do not wash their hands after taking a dump, park their cars so you could not open the door, and so on. Inconsiderate and rude.
