I've gotta charge my phone but I don't feel like plugging it in using my $12 nylon braided cable...

A $3.00 do it yourself bathtub faucet rebuild kit is going to cost me multiple hundreds of dollars. That's what happens when you think that the ball / lever is turning in the valve when trying to remove the nut. In actuality, the valve pipes are bending following the nut....finally, BREAKAGE! :(:(:(

Nice large hole now cut in the wall so that a plumber can replace the tub / shower valve and spout around noon tomorrow. Not brave enough to try to cut the lines and sweat a new one into the wall there.

*sigh*

I hope the plumber brings lube and goes in gently....

This should be a very happy time of year yet it's just one thing after another after another....I now know why people want to give up on life sometimes....but it's something that I don't want to know.

Better than expected but I did some of the work (cut the hole into the drywall, had part of the old stuff removed, area cleaned out with a work light so he could see, etc.). $265 including the faucet, the rough in valve and the labor. Still lots of money but about half of what I was thinking. I should have probably have attempted it myself after watching him do it.

have to pay $30 out of pocket for health care because I just used my $1200 FSA balance at the optometrist for 2 pairs of prescription sunglasses and 3 additional pairs of glasses

that's cheap, my current single pair of glasses was up near 400.

Geeez... Every pair up until my last two were $200+ just for lenses plus $150+ for frames.

Then I found Clearly Contacts and paid <$140 for a new pair. It was satisfactory so I bought another one.

I've been blind my whole life and learned how to adjust my own glasses though.

Maybe in the market for an HTPC. I can build one.. but I don't feel like it?

I sort of trust Chrome enough to get a Chrome Box, but I've Windows-ed my entire life and not sure I want to deal with change. Price difference is like $30.

what did they need to get your prescription?

i've heard that they need your pupillary distance.

i checked my script and it didn't have it on it.

Everything they needed was on my prescription from the optometrist -- I went to a random one I walked by before. Mines even had pupillary distance -- I think some of my older prescriptions didn't, but one recent one did.

Online stores usually have tutorials on what you need to order.

Yeah $400 seems to be the going price for a basic pair these days, it's kinda ridiculous.

So glad I got the balls to get LASIK, don't have to deal with glasses anymore. They were such a pain.
